So this morning CBS Radio in New York called to interview me about the blog and the Wizard Rock concert.  It should be airing sometime later today or this evening.  You can check it out on their website:  http://www.wcbs880.com/ or, if you live in the area, then on 880 AM.

 

Wizard Rock Rocks!

The Wizard Rock Concert with Draco and the Malfoys, The Whomping Willows, and Justin Finch-Fletchley held last night at the Norwalk Public Library was a huge success! More than 125 kids, teens, and adults traveling from towns all around and from as far away as Boston came to rock with these awesome Wizard Rock bands. Songs like “The House of Awesome,” “Honeydukes,” and “Potions Yesterday” were a big hit. Fans could be heard singing along and seen dancing to their favorite songs. This only made us more excited for the release of Book 7 next month.

The library will be ordering the bands’ CDs, so check with us soon to take out their music.

Wizard Rock

Tomorrow night is the Norwalk Public Library’s Wizard Rock concert. Draco and the Malfoys and The Whomping Willows will be performing at 6 pm in the Main Library Auditorium. We also have a surprise performer – Justin Finch-Fletchley will be doing an opening act! All ages are welcome and no registration is required, so come to the library tomorrow, Thursday, June 28th, to hear three awesome Wizard Rock bands as they kick-off the library’s three-week celebration of all things Harry Potter.

 

Harry Potter Parties

We’re having a few Harry Potter events at the library – you can check out the details by clicking on the “Upcoming Events” link at the top. We have lots of games and trivia contests, plus there will be some great Harry Potter food. To find recipes of some of the traditional English foods Harry and his friends eat at Hogwarts, as well as some of the fun wizard treats, visit Hot and Cold Stuff, the Norwalk Public Library’s Recipe Blog. We will be adding new recipes from the books every few days.

Don’t forget about the Wizard Rock Concert with Draco and the Malfoys and The Whomping Willows at the Norwalk Public Library on Thursday, June 28th at 6pm. The following two Thursday evenings, July 5th and 12th, we will be having Harry Potter Games & Discussion nights, also at 6pm. Let us know if you have any ideas for our events!

 

Wizard Rock

Bands like Harry and the Potters and Draco and the Malfoys have created a new kind of music – Wizard Rock. MTV has written an article saying that Wizard Rock has become a genre of music all its own. These fans have turned the Harry Potter books into song, giving us a new perspective on the books.

Draco and the Malfoys and The Whomping Willows will be giving a concert here at the Norwalk Public Library in the Auditorium on Thursday, June 28th at 6pm.
